Security entrances need a defined task: authorisation, sequential door operation, occupancy monitoring or one-way exit control. R62, R65, speedgates and FlipFlow are not interchangeable because they all contain moving barriers. This guide uses scoped R62 and FlipFlow documents to explain the evidence required for configuration, states, interfaces and handover.
Define the requirement before choosing a product label
An enquiry asking for an anti-tailgating entrance still needs to say who approaches from which side, where authorisation occurs, whether occupancy monitoring is required and who handles an exception. Sequential door operation alone does not establish an equivalent person-detection capability. One-way exit control is also not automatically a one-person-per-authorisation process.
The official R62 leaflet separates its two curved sliding-door interlock from different monitoring configurations. FlipFlow literature describes a one-way exit and anti-return role, with distinctions between versions and operating modes. Start with the intended task, then connect the equipment and documents to it.
Keep requests, authorisation, physical movement, state feedback and alarms separate. An authorisation acknowledgement does not prove that a person has passed or a leaf has reached its position. The meaning and source of each event belong in the interface record.
| Requirement | Evidence needed | Statement that cannot replace it |
|---|---|---|
| Authorisation | Source, equipment and business rule | A moving barrier identifies people and permissions |
| Interlock operation | Complete assembly, controls, mode and documents | Two interlocked doors automatically include occupancy monitoring |
| Occupancy monitoring | Actual sensors, conditions and functional scope | Every similar enclosure has identical detection |
| One-way exit | Direction, version, mode and management arrangements | No configuration can ever provide another operating state |
| Exceptions and protection | Indication source and handling responsibility | An alarm name completes the operational response |
R62 interlocking and person monitoring need separate confirmation
The retrieved R62 leaflet has eight pages and a 07/2017 footer. Page 4 distinguishes an interlock configuration from pressure-mat and 3D monitoring configurations. Its basic interlock entry explicitly lacks automatic person-monitoring sensor equipment. The name R62 interlock therefore does not settle the requested monitoring scope.
Record the complete assembly, control and monitoring equipment in one configuration schedule. Identify the function, applicable document and party confirming the proposal. A changed part or site condition needs its own applicability answer rather than inheriting another version's description.
These are statements in the cited source, not proof of a project's security performance. Confirm current supply and applicable documentation. The word interlock does not establish airtightness, pressure control, cleanliness or other building performance.
FlipFlow version and operating mode are part of the specification
The FlipFlow range leaflet separates versions and FLOW/INTERLOCK entries. The specific TWIN user manual, article 121-006454269, version 3.0, dated 16/11/2023, further distinguishes system construction and modes in section 5.4. Normal passage, closed/locked, cleaning, maintenance and other functions cannot be reduced to an unconditional open/close description.
The same INTERLOCK term in two documents does not establish identical equipment, monitoring, purpose or capacity. Apply each product's actual document. Preserve version and suffix in the quotation, equipment record and drawing.
A capacity entry also needs its mode and configuration. Do not turn a broad range into a site commitment. Parallel units need review of individual lanes, queues, entry/exit space and management, rather than only adding device widths.
R65 and speedgate information needs its own document identity
The official Chinese catalogue also lists R65, Vision Edge and Impression. A catalogue name does not supply complete evidence for that product. Check the document's cover, identifier, version and subject rather than relying on a web folder or a forwarding label.
R65-related search results in this review also exposed documents named R62. That requires a document-matching check; it does not establish that R62 and R65 are equivalent. This guide does not transfer R62 dimensions, detection or controls to R65, or invent specifications for an unverified version.
Speedgates likewise need the actual product and proposed configuration. Do not pre-approve interfaces, throughput or suitability for all users from appearance. The complete route, usable space, carried objects and project requirements still need the responsible review.
Power loss, alarms and restoration are separate conditions
It is inaccurate to describe every security entrance as opening all doors automatically on any power failure or alarm. Section 5.4.12 on PDF page 24 of the cited TWIN manual identifies a battery option and distinguishes default states of the entrance and other doors; restoration also has a check state. Those are scoped document conditions, not a universal emergency rule.
Confirm normal, locked, power-loss, restoration and project alarm conditions separately for the actual controls, locks, supply and interfaces. Assign the relevant project responsibilities. A product description or operating-mode name does not replace the applicable requirements and coordinated verification.
This guide provides no unlocking, reset, wiring or mode-change procedure. Site verification requires appropriate personnel, planning and coordination. Do not use people for hazardous testing or bypass protection and monitoring to obtain passage. General door safety evidence is a separate reference, not a substitute for this assembly's documents.
Preserve the interface and exception-handling chain
Obtain the complete equipment identities, versions and documents from both the entrance and access-control parties. Define the direction, meaning and time of requests, authorisations, feedback and indications. Do not invent serial interfaces, network protocols or compatible platforms to fill a documentation gap.
Identify which tasks belong to software and which need a site or equipment representative. Data not updated, an equipment alarm and a management response are different events. One platform success message does not establish that all three are resolved. See the system-interface evidence guide.
| Handover record | Relationship to retain | Result or responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Configuration | Complete model, assembly, controls, monitoring and options | Applicable documents match actual supply |
| Layout and use | Direction, users, queues and carried objects | Space and complete-route review |
| External interfaces | Request, authorisation, state and indication sources | Expected and observed results from both parties |
| Exceptions | Time, mode, full indication and physical observations | Facts, investigation scope and response owner |
| Completion | Actual configuration, checks, open matters and recipient | Management, maintenance and conditions for use |
Service and parts start with identity and observation
Record the entrance ID, complete model, actual mode, full indication, behaviour and recent changes. Do not diagnose every exception as a control-board or sensor failure. Connect the installed equipment, old part and proposed replacement, and identify the part's role.
Occupancy sensing, travel-direction detection and protection against moving leaves should not all be described as one generic safety radar. Replacement needs the actual identity, documents and compatibility answer, with installation and verification scope. The parts identification guide covers the general method.
Manage unintended motion, protection faults or equipment needing repair under site procedures. Appropriately qualified personnel should investigate. Do not repeatedly reset a fault, bypass protection or try another model's wiring and codes. Maintenance planning must match the assembly and use.
Enquiry and source scope
Download the original security-entrance scope and state worksheet (CSV). Itemise equipment, authorisation terminals, monitoring, locks, interfaces, building work, transport, installation and checks. Supply, management, warranty and attendance need the actual documents and agreement; no unverified price, stock or service network is implied.
The worksheet is a communication aid, not an official protocol, performance certificate or project acceptance. Reviewed on 2026-11-02: R62 leaflet 07/2017, pages 2 and 4; FlipFlow Exit Lane leaflet range table; FlipFlow TWIN manual 121-006454269, version 3.0, dated 16/11/2023, section 5.4; and official catalogue entries. This is a limited source and method review, not coverage of every security-entrance model.
The Chinese office-entry planning guide addresses arrival, queues and operational records. Remote supply and site responsibilities are discussed in the international enquiry guide.

Frequently asked questions
Do two interlocked doors automatically include occupancy monitoring?
No. The cited R62 leaflet distinguishes basic interlocking from monitoring configurations. Confirm the actual equipment schedule and applicable document rather than inferring sensors from the name or enclosure.
Can R62 and FlipFlow use the same plan because both mention INTERLOCK?
No. A shared term does not establish identical assemblies, monitoring, purpose or passage conditions. Each complete model needs its own documents and site review.
Can an R62 PDF in an R65-related link supply R65 specifications?
Not from the path or forwarding label alone. Match the cover, identifier, revision and subject, then obtain the correct applicability answer. Do not transfer R62 entries to R65 without evidence.
Do all security entrances open every door after power loss?
No universal state follows from the category. The cited TWIN manual separates a battery option and different door states. Confirm the actual equipment, modes, locks, supply and project requirements.
Does a successful credential read prove that passage is complete?
No. Authorisation, equipment receipt, movement and a person passing are different events. Define each feedback source and meaning rather than treating one acknowledgement as the complete result.
Should an alarm first receive repeated resets or a replacement board?
Preserve the complete equipment, mode, indication, observations and recent changes, then arrange investigation. Do not infer a failed part from one message or bypass protection to obtain a result.
