Record DFA 830 is an overhead swing door operator. A usable selection needs the leaf weight, width, PUSH or PULL arrangement and installation geometry together. A weight figure separated from those conditions cannot settle a project. This guide explains the evidence to request before installation, replacement parts or an order.
Why the published weight figures need their conditions
The official English DFA 830 datasheet retrieved for this review has a 03/2023 footer. Its second-page descriptive text mentions 250 kg. The official German Record shop page lists 650 kg for PUSH and 375 kg for PULL, with a 0.8 m door-width condition. These are source-specific statements; they must not be combined into an unconditional rating.
The retrieved shop text did not provide a revision date that would establish precedence. We cannot declare the datasheet obsolete, or choose the larger figure as a quotation promise. Ask the proposed supplier to identify the document, arrangement, width conditions and approval applicable to the actual equipment being offered. Keep that answer with the quotation revision. A change to the door or arm arrangement reopens the check.
| Source entry | Conditions retained from the source | Project evidence still needed |
|---|---|---|
| English descriptive weight statement | 250 kg in the 03/2023 datasheet, page 2 | Applicable supply documentation and joint width/arrangement conditions |
| German shop weight entry | PUSH 650 kg and PULL 375 kg, with 0.8 m width stated | Regional and configuration applicability; no transfer to another width |
| Datasheet inertia entries | PUSH 140 kg·m² and PULL 80 kg·m², page 2 | Actual leaf inputs, arrangement and other selection constraints |
| Operator dimensions | Depth × height × length: 148 × 70 × 840 mm | Fixing, arm movement, cover removal and access space |
| Environmental entries | −20 to +45°C, 95% relative humidity, non-condensing; IP20 | Actual location, weather protection and documents for each component |
These entries describe the cited documents. They are not acceptance of a particular entrance, and equipment IP does not describe the weather resistance of an entire building interface.
Width changes the inertia input even when weight stays the same
The English datasheet gives the relationship J = door weight × door width² ÷ 3. As arithmetic examples only, a hypothetical 100 kg leaf gives approximately 33.3 kg·m² at 1.0 m width and 48 kg·m² at 1.2 m. The examples demonstrate the width term; neither is a completed selection or safety assessment.
Record where the dimensions and weight came from, whether they are estimates, and whether the door construction still matches the information. Record each leaf separately on a double door. A glass-only estimate does not account for every component of a completed leaf. A blanket percentage margin cannot resolve a missing width, uncertain construction or unidentified arm arrangement.
A 70 mm operator height is not an installation clearance
The 70 mm figure is the body height in the cited dimensional entry. The installation drawing must also locate the fixing reference, frame and structural support, door axis, opening direction, arm movement, obstructions and maintenance access. A photograph helps locate an obstruction but does not replace a dimensioned drawing with a stated reference.
Assign responsibility for electrical work, locks, access control, sensors and other system interfaces. Use the actual equipment documents and project drawings; this page supplies no universal terminal connections or cable-distance rule. Where structural fixing or access remains uncertain, record the unanswered condition before scheduling installation.
Compare DFA 830 and DFA 127 as complete proposals
Do not rank the two series by model number or classify one as the answer to every heavier door. Compare proposals against the same leaf and site information: version, arm arrangement, permitted conditions, fixing geometry, protection, locking, emergency requirements and retained equipment.
The DFA 830 datasheet lists a KILL/FIRE function and includes a fire kit and mechanical coordination unit among accessories and options. A function name does not establish compliance of any assembled door, lock and control combination. The project needs the documents and review applicable to that complete arrangement. See the DFA 127 version guide for that series' separate evidence scope.
Repair reports and spare parts need an equipment identity chain
A report that a door will not close does not yet justify ordering a control board. Record the onset, observed behaviour, operating mode, complete displayed indication and recent changes to the door, lock or surrounding work. Separate observation from diagnosis.
Page 3 of the English datasheet names CU-300, EXU-SI and EXU-SA in its listed configuration, and names synchronisation cables, battery equipment and arm systems among options. Those names do not establish the installed version or a universal orderable part number. Its statement about SW300 specifications also does not prove interchangeability of a particular spare part.
| Work stage | Facts to retain | Answer to obtain |
|---|---|---|
| Technical selection | Entrance ID, each leaf's width/weight source, direction and proposed arm | Applicable document, configuration and unresolved inputs |
| Installation preparation | Fixing reference, movement area, access and system interfaces | Readiness, responsibilities and change-control record |
| Repair request | Time, behaviour, mode, indication and recent changes | Inspection scope, isolation arrangements and cost boundaries |
| Parts enquiry | Equipment/old-part identities, control version and proposed replacement | Compatibility evidence, supply scope and commissioning needs |
| Handover | As-installed configuration, document revisions, checks and open items | Recorded results, recipient and follow-up responsibilities |
Obtain labels only from a safe accessible position. Qualified personnel should handle work involving covers, electricity, stored mechanical energy or hazardous movement. Do not disconnect wiring or bypass protection to collect a photograph. Repeated resets and a few opening cycles do not replace the required investigation or checks. Keep people out of hazardous movement areas; do not use a person as a test obstruction. General parts identification and door safety evidence have separate guides.
Separate the project city, supply decision and site work
A project city identifies a location, not a confirmed branch, local stock or arrival commitment. The purchaser's office, delivery point and construction site may be different addresses. Confirm who measures, supplies, installs, checks and accepts the work, with transport and site access separately addressed.
Request an itemised proposal covering the operator, arms, door leaves, protection, locks, interfaces, freight and site work. Warranty period, responsible organisation, exclusions and attendance arrangements require applicable documents and contractual agreement. This guide does not publish an unverified market price or imply that equipment is in stock.
Download the original DFA 830 document and parts enquiry worksheet (CSV). It is a blank communication aid, not an official manual, wiring diagram or acceptance certificate. For cross-border supply responsibilities, see the international enquiry guide.
Source scope and business contact

Frequently asked questions
Is DFA 830 rated for 250 kg or 650 kg?
The retrieved 03/2023 English datasheet mentions 250 kg in descriptive text. The German official shop lists PUSH 650 kg and PULL 375 kg with a 0.8 m width condition. Retain the source and conditions and obtain the document applicable to the proposed supply; neither figure is an unconditional project rating.
Does a 70 mm space above the door suffice?
70 mm is the operator body height in the cited datasheet. Fixing, arm travel, opening geometry, obstructions, cover removal and service access still require the applicable installation drawing and site review.
Can DFA 830 directly replace DFA 127?
The shared overhead swing-door category does not prove replacement compatibility. Compare version, arms, fixing, protection, locks, interfaces, emergency requirements and retained parts against the same entrance information.
Can SW300 spare parts be ordered for a DFA 830?
A statement about shared specifications is not interchangeability evidence for an installed part. Match the equipment, old part, control version and proposed replacement, including any installation or commissioning requirements.
Should a door that will not close be reset or fitted with a new board?
Record the behaviour, mode, indication and recent changes, then arrange appropriate investigation. Do not infer a failed part or repeatedly reset from the symptom alone. Isolate hazardous movement or protection faults under site procedures and keep people out of the risk area.
Does naming a city confirm local installation or warranty service?
No. Supply acceptance, site responsibilities, attendance and warranty terms need separate confirmation for that enquiry. A project location or authorisation display does not establish those arrangements.
