Record C127X in-ground swing operator: Center, Offset and site evidence

Keep arrangement, dimensional references and complete-door functions traceable.

Published: 2026-11-02 · Reviewed: 2026-11-02

Record C127X is an in-ground swing operator. Selection requires more than a headline 600 kg value or a single box dimension. The official brochure distinguishes Center and Offset, operator and cement-box dimensions, and a leaf-weight versus width performance graph. Establish the axis, opening direction, connections and leaf conditions before checking the complete proposed configuration.

Center and Offset describe a construction relationship

An in-ground operator is not automatically a direct replacement for an existing floor spring. Establish how the leaf is supported, which axis it rotates around, how it connects to the drive and how it relates to adjacent walls, thresholds and the façade. An existing recess or door-bottom position alone does not prove that a replacement fits.

The reviewed C127X brochure distinguishes Center, with the leaf placed at the middle of the operator, from Offset, with the drive axis moved towards the housing edge. It also illustrates directional and double-leaf arrangements. Similar appearance or a verbal “left/right opening” description is insufficient for ordering.

Put Center/Offset, viewing reference, CW/CCW, axis, open/closed positions and connections on the same drawing. An image mirrored without a reference is not an installation-direction record. Hinged-door arrangements also require their applicable arms and guides; “in-ground” does not establish that every connection is invisible.

Operator dimensions are not excavation dimensions

The following values identify objects in the official Record C127X brochure No.102-998401867, footer marking 23/07, PDF page 5, printed pages 8–9. They are not a construction recess schedule.

Listed object, length × width × height Offset Center
Operator itself 561×258×152 mm 641×231×152 mm
With stainless-steel cement box 840×320×173 mm 840×320×173 mm
Rotation-axis-position entry 50×50 mm 105×53 mm

The shared cement-box dimensions do not make the axis or internal arrangement identical. The rotation-axis entry is not a standalone safe wall clearance or universal fitting gap; use the corresponding drawing and references. Box dimensions do not determine foundations, fixings, finished level, waterproofing or cover construction for the project.

If an enquiry gives only an approximate existing recess depth, establish the finished datum, other construction requirements and the existing structure and services. Neither the 152 mm operator height nor the 173 mm box-related dimension completes the site allowance design.

The headline leaf weight cannot be paired with any width

The same brochure plots leaf weight against width and separately lists a moment-of-inertia condition. A headline weight limit should therefore not be detached from the rest of the selection evidence. Width, mass distribution and connections affect the conditions the operator faces.

This article does not extrapolate the performance curve or provide a formula for approving a door from weight alone. Give each leaf's dimensions, material, weight evidence, axis and connections, intended angle and environmental requirements to the party preparing the proposal. Ask them to confirm suitability using the applicable graph and installation documents.

For a hypothetical information check, two leaves of equal weight but different widths should not automatically be treated as the same operating case. In a double-leaf entrance, record each leaf separately rather than a single combined weight. These are review examples, not tests or customer installations performed by this business.

An equipment rating does not approve building waterproofing

The reviewed brochure lists IP69 for the Center and Offset operator entries and describes equipment protection. Keep that statement attached to its document and configuration. Do not extend it to floor structure, waterproofing membranes, joints, cable interfaces and every accessory as though they all carry the same rating.

This page neither characterises all in-ground equipment as unsuitable for water nor approves arbitrary immersion or washing. Review the actual equipment's environment and cleaning limits, box and cover arrangements, building waterproofing and maintenance documents. Identify which party is responsible for each interface.

Where underfloor heating, utilities, movement joints or waterproofing are present, establish existing conditions and the permitted work scope before construction. Do not fill a box with water, create drainage holes or modify seals without the applicable instructions.

Construction, operating mode and power-loss response are separate

Center/Offset describes a physical arrangement, rather than Manual, Power Assist or automatic operation. The brochure describes those modes separately and distinguishes normal operation from the Inverse option: the normal version opens by motor and closes by spring force, while Inverse reverses the functional principle.

The model name alone therefore does not establish whether the completed entrance opens or closes after power loss. Confirm the actual functional version, mode, power, locks and control relationships. An Inverse description does not approve the installed entrance for evacuation, fire or smoke-control use; those purposes need their own project requirements and evidence.

Question Review separately Unsupported shortcut
How is it arranged? Center/Offset, axis, direction and connections Treat an operating mode as the construction version
How does the user operate it? Actual Manual, Power Assist or automatic arrangement Assistance establishes every automatic function
What follows power loss? Actual version, power, locks and complete door state The model name guarantees an open or closed entrance
How is passage protected? Swept area, relevant hazards, sensing and checks Opening activation replaces a protective function
What closes handover? Installed configuration, results, instructions and open issues The door moving is a completed acceptance review

This article provides no wiring, spring adjustment or safety-setting procedure. Appropriately competent personnel should use applicable documents, record actual settings and changes, and retain the check results. Do not bypass protection or put a person inside a moving leaf's sweep to test it.

Resolve service access and quotation scope before work

Maintenance requires access to and removal of the relevant component, followed by suitable reinstatement. Ask how the cover or finish tray opens, whether the door or furniture obstructs removal, and who handles waterproofing and finishes. A visible access cover alone does not establish that every repair avoids floor work.

Separate drive, box and cover, door assembly and connections, sensing, controls and locks, construction/waterproofing, electrical work, commissioning and handover documents. Two quotations labelled C127X may describe different arrangements, accessories and site responsibilities. Resolve those differences before comparing totals.

The original blank underfloor site and interface worksheet records the known conditions and unresolved responsibilities. It is not a manufacturer installation drawing or acceptance certificate. For a sliding or curved entrance, use the separate S20 SU and R61 guide rather than transferring swing-operator dimensions.

Reviewed sources: the official UK C127X page and the identified Record brochure. Review date: 2 November 2026. Dimensions and functional descriptions remain within the document's scope; they are not a site design or a project approval in China. Documents for differently named C127 SU equipment are not merged into this specification.

Frequently asked questions

Are Center and Offset just different left/right opening names?

No. They concern the relationship between the drive axis and housing. Confirm opening direction, viewing reference, axis and connections as well as the construction arrangement.

Is a 152 mm recess sufficient because the operator is 152 mm high?

That cannot be concluded directly. The brochure distinguishes operator and cement-box dimensions, while the project also needs fixings, finished level, waterproofing and cover details. Use applicable configuration drawings and site conditions.

Does the stated 600 kg value apply at any leaf width?

No such combination should be assumed. The brochure also provides a weight-versus-width graph and moment-of-inertia condition. Review each leaf's dimensions, axis, connections and environment using applicable evidence.

Does IP69 remove the need for building waterproofing review?

No. An equipment rating does not give the same rating to the building construction and all interfaces. Review environment, cleaning limits, box/cover details and building responsibilities separately.

Does C127X always open automatically after power loss?

That cannot be promised from its name. Normal and Inverse functions differ, and complete-door behaviour depends on the actual version, mode, locks and power arrangement.

Can it directly replace an existing floor spring?

Not on the basis of recess shape or appearance alone. Confirm support, axis, connections, box, structure and services, protective functions and controls, with a defined retained/replaced scope.
